For Spring, A New York Training, and Y-ADR Returns

Two important CPR Institute events are coming this spring: an advanced arbitrator training in New York and, in Washington, D.C., Y-ADR, CPR’s networking group for attorneys.

The advanced arbitrator training will be held at Dewey & LeBoeuf, 1301 Avenue of the Americas, near 43rd St., on May 17, 2011 from 9:00 am-5:30 pm. Lunch is included. The faculty features from the host law firm partner James H. Carter, who is former chairman of the board of the American Arbitration Association, and partner Jonathan D. Siegfried.

The faculty also will include the following New York City-based attorneys: Ank Santens, a partner in the international arbitration group at White & Case; Mark W. Friedman, a Debevoise & Plimpton partner; Lawrence W. Newman, a partner in Baker & McKenzie and chairman of the CPR Institute’s Arbitration Committee; Robert H. Smit, a partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and Kathleen M. Scanlon, who heads her own firm and is former CPR Institute senior vice president.

At press time, the CPR Institute was about to announce a program for a new Y-ADR event for Washington, D.C. The session will run from 6:00 pm to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28. Y-ADR, which introduces younger practitioners to in-house counsel and international conflict resolution practice, is open to lawyers age 45 and younger.
